Morehouse’s journalism program teaches students multimedia skills that professional news reporters must possess, but also applies those skills to the development of much needed black sports journalists. Giving our students off-campus learning and reporting opportunities is critical to our mission.
Just since 2016, our students have reported live from the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Cuba, and Ghana, and have written sports stories after covering the NCAA Tournament, Atlanta Hawks and Falcons games, and NASCAR races. To encourage career ambitions and networking, this year our students attended the black journalists convention in Detroit, MIT’s sports analytics conference in Boston, and the launch of National Geographic’s “Race Issue” in D.C. Donate today to contribute to the $8,245 it costs to send six students to Ecuador next month on a reporting project.
