In the age of two global pandemics - one that has devastated the health and wellness of millions of people and families throughout the nation and world and one that has continued to reinvent its attack on race and race relations - the sense of a 'new normal' has been promoted as the new way of existence.
However, hunger and homelessness are not new phenomena. And in a virtual moment when people feel more alone than ever, including students, real life seems to settle in when it comes to having money for groceries, rent, electricity, water, Internet and so many other life necessities.
The students of Morehouse College are not immune to the pandemics, and their needs vary widely from one student to the next. In addition to needing emergency support for food and housing insecurity, there is also a need for financial support for tuition, books, fees, etc. that are required for successful matriculation.
Additionally, the programmatic endeavors that encourage student engagement have been impacted by the 'new normal' and can benefit from a boost of financial support that will enable a greater connection among students, faculty and staff. The Office of Student Services offers a plea to you to support the students of Morehouse to help them be steadfast in their quest for success by making a donation to the Student Emergency Fund today!
