What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a national movement (started in 2012) that encourages people to give back. Morehouse is proud to participate in this special day of philanthropy! Giving Tuesday offers easy and fun ways to support what inspires you at Morehouse College.
Why should I participate in Giving Tuesday?
Your support provides Morehouse College the ongoing resources that are crucial to its growth and success as the College challenges itself to be among the finest liberal arts institutions in the world. Donors touch lives every day with gifts that support academics, scholarship, and technology and infrastructure enhancements—to name just a few ways your dollars go to work. It takes the collective annual support of alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, and staff to ensure Morehouse realizes its unique mission of developing men dedicated to lives of leadership and service.
Because Giving Tuesday is a time-limited giving campaign, we strongly encourage you to make your gift online at https://giveto.morehouse.edu. How did Morehouse's last Giving Tuesday go?
Last year's Giving Tuesday event was a record-shattering success. The entire Morehouse community united with more than 2,600 donors raising $2,213,030 during the event! This year we need to raise the bar: with your help we can secure 3,500 supporters on November 30.
I already give to Morehouse, why am I being asked to give again?
Philanthropic support makes a difference in all areas of the campus. We are appreciative of all our current donors, but ask that you consider making an additional gift to Morehouse College during Giving Tuesday in order to help further our progress. There's a lot to be proud of at Morehouse, and every dollar helps us to create and enhance the educational experience of our students.
What is an ambassador and how can I become one?
Ambassadors are Morehouse College's digital leaders, sharing messages and creating excitement about Giving Tuesday before and during the campaign. Ambassadors help spread awareness—asking their network to participate in Giving Tuesday using their preferred forms of communication: email, text, phone, and social media. If you are interested in becoming an ambassador, you can register online or email email@example.com with questions.
Can I make an anonymous donation?
Yes, on the donation page you can indicate if you would like your gift to remain anonymous. Your privacy is important to us. All donor information is considered strictly confidential and is never sold or shared to any third-party organizations.
Can I make a gift in honor or in memory of someone?
Yes. On the donation page, you can choose to dedicate your gift "in honor of" or "in memory of" any individual. This can be a beautiful tribute to celebrate someone impactful to your Morehouse experience while at the same time making an immediate difference in the lives of our students on campus.
What are the College's strategic funding priorities?
The College's Fund for Morehouse is unrestricted and allocated to the area of greatest immediate need. Annual gifts of this nature provide essential year-to-year support for financial aid, faculty development, infrastructure, and technology. Unrestricted gifts provide a necessary source of cash flow to keep the school operating and are critical to sustaining the Morehouse Mission.
Did you know that last year only 4% of the fundraising revenue received by the College is unrestricted? This poses a challenge in our ability to be need-blind in admissions, provide support for faculty, and keep up with facilities and technology needs.

Can I make a gift to multiple fund designations in one single transaction?
Yes! To do so, click the "+ Add another gift to your donation" link in the Donate section on the giving page.
Who should I contact with questions about my contribution?
For general questions about your gift, call 470-639-0827 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. During the event you can also take advantage of the chat feature by clicking the chat button on the bottom right corner of your screen.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card is charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the site. When making a gift with your credit card, be sure to use your billing address and NOT your mailing address.
Are gifts tax-deductible?
All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Once you complete your gift transaction, you will receive an email confirmation. This will serve as your official gift acknowledgement and tax receipt from Morehouse College.
How can I make my donation go even further?
Thousands of companies match gifts to higher education, which can double or triple your gift. To find out if your employer (or your spouse's employer) has a matching gift program, please contact your Human Resources representative for a matching gift form. You may need to provide Morehouse's Employer Identification Number (EIN) on the form, which is 58-0566205.
Is it safe to make an online gift?
Yes. When you make a gift at giveto.morehouse.edu, gifts are processed through a third-party secure payment processing vendor with the highest level of industry security. Additionally, this web page has a valid security certificate and is being accessed using industry leading SSL security protocols. Information you provide when you make a gift will be used by Morehouse College for the purpose of correctly allocating, crediting, and acknowledging your gift. The charge on your credit card statement will appear from MOREHOUSE COLLEGE.
Can I make a monthly or recurring gift to Morehouse during Giving Tuesday?
Yes! On the donation page simply "Recurring" after choosing your Designation details.
