The Morehouse Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center is a global model for higher education and industry collaboration that connects education with student leadership development, and community-focused resources and support. The Center is grounded in the Morehouse legacy and committed to building a program that supports bridging the growing gap between the wealth of non-minorities and that of people of color. Our programs and services have one goal to help Black businesses grow and thrive.
MIEC aims to uplift Business Support Organizations (BSOs) serving Black-owned businesses by leveraging participatory research principles and frameworks. This report identifies systemic barriers and offers actionable recommendations to foster equity, trust, and joint knowledge production between researchers and the Atlanta-metropolitan BSO community. Emphasizing collaborative research methods, MIEC aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, advancing economic empowerment and equity for Black-owned businesses.
